DX & WB compatability

Newbie here. I love running WB and upon checking out desktops for DX I find few that are listed for 1680x1050 resolution. This is the only resolution (native) that really works well on this 22" monitor. I was checking out parts of DX that are resolutin independant, so I guess those will work. Can I use things from DX such as sidebars at the same time as using WB? Thanks!

DX works very well with WB no problem there :D
For Resolutions: Resolutions independent must work correctly under 1680x1050, others you'll have to read descriptions if they support this resolutions. Anyway with a little time you can rework a theme to fit your resolution :)

Thanks Quentin. I take it you don't apply an entire desktop if you have a visual style set in WB. Are all of these images, icons, cursors etc. made with various OD programs, or made in programs like Photoshop? I think all of this is going to be a steep learning curve for an old guy like me.

you can apply dxtheme, wb skin, objectbar etc... together without problems :D

Images are mostly done with graphics editors like Ms Paint, Photoshop,.... then put in SD software editor like SkinStudio, RightCLick editor, IconDeveloper,... to create skins/themes.

there are some old skinners here don't worry

Just take the time to read tutorials here or on the  wincustomize wiki and it'll be more easier to understand or create skins :)

Thanks for the input guys. Photoshop is a bit beyond my means: any other programs of type that may be less expensive?
