Instantly acquired a dozen techs...? (TA)

While playing Krynn, I encountered the Arcean empire. When the initial "you met" screen popped up, I decided to "speak to" the arceans immediately. I wanted to trade technologies with them, however, strangely none showed up for trade on their side. After closing the diplomatic trade window, I received notification after notification about NEW techs I just learned. Must of been about a dozen new techs. Is this a bug or do the do the krynn have some kind of technology that occasionally lets them steal a whole bunch of techs from other races?

Either its a bug, or the creative ability was on steriods.

Just checking. Did it say something like "Due to our creative ability, we have finished X tech."?

For your information, it seems that the creative ability has got a boost recently. From my experience, it can finish any tech whenever that pop up occurs. I've had it pop up right after I've researched a tech, resulting in me geting 2 techs in one turn.

Sounds suspicious. Any indication that they were Arcean techs?

I didn't pick the "creative" perk when I started my game. Does that mean I don't have it, or is every race inherently creative to some extent?

No message said I received these techs due to my creativity. Also, there is no reason to suspect they are Arcean techs.

I dont think this is due to the creativity 'boost' because I received about a 12 instantly. That seems like way too many.

What your describing is almost certainly as a result of the UP vote on how many unique technologies should each race share.

If you had 4 races and each shared 3 unique technologies you would get 12 in rapid succession. However, it is odd you did not remember seeing the vote. Either a new bug or you the type of person to just skim through UP votes.

Yeah, my guess is the UP resolution to play technological "catch up" that bestows three techs unique to each race to everyone. Any chance the United Planets vote screen came up and you clicked away without checking out the resolution?
