Strange MP Prob - mouse shoots to corner on switch to secondary

Since this AM - when MP switches to secondary, mouse shoots and locks to lower right corner.

Hi to all, I have been a MP user for some time - just this morning when I moved from my Primary (on top of a vertical config) to my lower laptop (below primary) The mouse dissapears on primary (where it went off the screen as usual) but cursor flys to the lower right hand corner of secondary. I can not then regain control or move the mouse back to the primary.... If I use the finger pad on my laptop, I can move the mouse on the laptop back to the center or whereever I like. I am able to type using my shared keyboard, but If move the mouse a fraction of an inch it moves on the secondary a 4 inches. Any movement on the shared mouse moves it 100 times as far on the secondary machine to the lower right hand corner. This occured on 1.20, so I tried installing 1.20j (or is it 1.21?) and the same thing occurs. Primary is Vista Home Premium, secondary is Windows XP Pro. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, including making a new partnership and still occurs. The only way I can get control back to the primary is to take the laptop off the network (turnoff wireless ethernet) - none of the hotkeys work. If I set the configuration to "wrap" monitors, as soon as I move off the TOP of the primary... the same thing happens. - any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help..... Jevad.

Are both machines on the same version? I know you reinstalled but this is the most typical of reasons for this issue. I would actually suggest starting a ticket with us at [email protected] since many more questions are going to have to be asked for certain.

Hi Seabass, both machines were on the same version (1.20) when the issue started (I hadnt updated either in a long time). I then loaded stardock and got the upgrade to the beta just in case it was a recent issue with all the wonderful Vista updates... I'm quite sure that both were on the same version. Vista had done a few system updates automatically over the past week or so, so I tried to back a few out - without much luck. I decided to jump back to a system restore point that I knew worked (perhaps a bite drastic but after spending 5 hours on it - I was a little desparate). This seemed to work so I will forgo a ticket for now... Unfortunately for MP beta debugging purposes, my resolution doesnt help much in bettering your poduct. However when I have some time (i.e. catch up on my missed work from today) I will step the Vista updates, reboot one by one and see if I can recreate the problem. I will let you guys know if anything pops up. THANKS AGAIN for your quick response... I love Multiplicity and literally couldnt live without it (now dont go raising the price!!! ;-)

Ok well I am glad it is working. However any info you can give us in the tickets through support we can pass on to the developers for review to correct the problem. I didn't mean to have such a simple sounding answer there since I was near certain of the answer, I just couldn't think of what else could cause that. If you have the time we would love to hear from you to track this issue down. If not no worries but let us know if something new comes up.

Trust me the whole office uses this program. We all want it to work. :)
