I can import and apply a CursorXP theme, but it doesn't show up in the list of available cursors in the UI list. I know it's a beta, but this seems like an obvious requirement (imported themes should appear in the list of available cursors). Also, while the settings changes do apply, they don't show the imported cursor in the preview portion of the screen.

I would also suggest that there be an option for directly importing an existing package (maybe even a drag and drop operation), as opposed to having to open the 'new package' editor, and incurring the additional overhead of creating a new default package just before opening a package to import.

If you double click a .CurXPTheme it will be automatically added to the themes directory. The UI is probably not updating realtime (it will in Beta2). However if you close and reload the UI you should get the theme. Or you can just select all your old themes and copy them to the new location.

There is no reason to save old .CurXPThemes to the new .CursorFX format, unless you plan to actually use the new format features. We will document them soon.

Opps! After going to the link for CursorFX I see it is a replacement for CursorXP. I still will not pay more since I had this for years.

This is totally respectable. However CursorFX is newer compared to CursorXP the same way Windows Vista is newer than Windows XP: you get a new user interface and new features.
New features are such things like dynamic shadows, motion smoothing (Plus), animated UI, etc.
There is also a new theme format that has new options such as integrating effects into themes (you will see this more and more used) and several new scripting and animation options in Beta 2 that will let cursors be more and more cool.
I agree the editor needs much more work and documentation, however it is not needed today to let you enjoy old .CurXPTheme files.

I suggest to change the keys because these are shourtcuts for Copy/Paste formating in Microsoft Word. :-s

In the final build there will be no need to manually unload CFX (you will eventually use the UI).
So we will only have one key combination that you'll be able to customize.

What I find really irritating is the shadows being so far away from the cursor. It nearly looks like having 2 cursors. Any way to change that ?

Just go on settings and tweak how you wish.

just so folks know, on XP i opened the cur XP config and ticked the "disable all" box then hit apply.. then opened up Cur FX config and applied the theme set i wanted and it ran fine... also copy all your themes over to the curFX themes folder in shared/stardock/curFX/themes directory and your fave cursor themes will be loaded..

It would cool if CursorFX linked into SD virtual desktops. I.e. You could have define a desktop with all the skinning and fancy cursors for general work and have a separate desktop with default Windows cursor and no skinning for work on serious apps like photoshop.

Oooo . . that would be cool!
:CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:

That would set SD Virtual Desktop apart from anything else on the market. Theme based Desktops would rock.

Update: I have just received word that this problem has been fixed by the web team.

There is a problem with a select few accounts when using the form here:

I don't care how serious things get, I never use default windows cursor.

I find that the hand curser starts out as the default Windows curser for a few seconds and then displays the correct curser for the theme that is loaded.
This happens for all curser theme sets. It bothered me enough to reload CurserXP. (:(

Any help would be greatly appreciated

What happens when you double-click on a pack?
After that, close and reopen and try again using the "apply" button.

I like how when I double-click on something there is a "spark" left behind.  Very cool.

Since I can't use this program (not enough RAM). When someone makes a cursor using CursorFX, will I be able to use it with CursorXP?

You are asking if CursorXp will be upgraded to read both .CurXPTheme and .CursorFX file types?
No...Will I be able to use a cursor made with FX on my CursorXp free version? Are the file types the same?

edit: by your question it looks like the file types are not the same, and it looks like I wont be able to use them... unless the file type can be changed?
