It doesn't help if we have no clue what we did wrong

For the last 2 submissions, I have gotten multiple emails saying your dream was not accepted, but WHY??? The first time, I did get an email with the reason, and I have been careful about the criteria. It would help if we knew why they were not accepted, instead of rejecting it every time. Has anyone else gotten an email with a reason, because I sure haven't!

I get copies of the e-mails sent out. The e-mail sent re your Northern Lights dream says it doesn't work. I can understand that if the moderator testing it has a single core cpu - mine is a dual core and it runs one of them at 100%...  :SURPRISED:

Don't ask what the cause is, I do not know. All I know is it needs to be sorted out before going public.

Might be the codec, but I have had no problems on my Dual computer... Nor has anyone else had problems with my dreams [that use the same codec].

Might be the codec,

If that's the case it would be imperative that you include that information...and link to the relevant codec to help solve the issue/s for others who download/apply the Dream.

This is really equivalent to the 'old days' of Litestep where different modules [dlls] would cause all sorts of issues so the 'best' way was to include them and/or list their specific ver numbers.  Eventually LS had the OTS/2 standard that checks your machine and dls/instals the required modules for you prior to loading the theme.

Back to the dream.... although one may work perfectly on the author's setup....if the person checking the upload has problems all he can do is reject it on the assumption he will not be the only one to do so.... and give the uploader a chance to investigate/solve the issue...;)

Hmmm, I don't see why I should install a codec to run a dream. Dreams should run on a standard config, if they do not then they should quite rightly be rejected as 'not working'.

The weird thing is, 2 of my dreams got accepted, and had the same codec...

Most likely then they were checked by someone else who had those same codecs already.

Unfortunately with codecs not everyone will have installed/updated the same software...and thus not all will have it/them working the same way.

Ideally these things need to function with a default OS setup....or some indication is needed of what might be lacking/required....;)

I used the Microsoft MPEG-2 codec v3, which was already on my system though...

I did want to use XVid, but a weird single blank, black frame always came before the video!
