ObjectDock Plus 1.9 crashes directly all the time after executing

I have to restart and fequent harddisk accesses after clicking on the executable

Hello!

I just purchased ObjectDock Plus 1.9, but unfortunately I have a big problem. Both ObjectDock and ObjectDock Plus crash directly after clicking on the executable. I'm using a Laptop with Windows XP Professional GERMAN (Service Pack 2 and latest updates) and a AMD Dual-Core Processor 1.6 GHz, 1 Gig RAM. It's a "Targa Traveller 1577 X2".

The installation worked without problems, but if I click on the ObjectDock executable, the HardDisk-LED shines nearly all the time and my system gets REALLY slow, it nearly freezes. I gave ObjectDock Plus nearly one hour to start, but nothing happens. The only way is rebooting by pressing the Main Power button for a longer time. Even after one hour the HDD-LED still shines and shines and shines and the system is still nearly freezed.

I tried to delete the ObjectDock Plus folder in %userprofile%\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\stardock, but the same crash appears. I also aborted nearly all programs which ran in background, but the problem persists.

Only after creating a new user profile in Windows XP the program started normally and worked perfectly.

What can I do to run ObjectDock Plus with my CURRENT profile?

Thank you for your help!

Best regards,
Christoph

Uninstall OB and OB+
Having both will cause a conflict.
Then install OD+
You are best off if you install using Stardock Central. (OD+ is in the Misc section)

I deinstalled ObjectDock first. The problem already appeared in exactly the same way before ObjectDock Plus was installed. Before I installed Object Dock Plus, I completely deinstalled Object Dock.

I try to install Object Dock with Stardock Central now, but I don't think it will solve the problem...

As expected, I get the same error if I deinstall ALL StarDock applications and install ObjectDock Plus via the Stardock Central. :'(

Are you able to access the config at all?
There is a button for troubleshooting where you can disable various functions.
If you can access that try disabling them to see if OD works.
Then enable them one by one to see if you can identify which one is causing a problem.

If you can't access the config, go to C:\Users\{user_name}\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus adn open settings.ini

Look for:
DockletsDisabled=0
DWMDisabled=0
TrayDisabled=0
TaskbarDisabled=0
HooksDisabled=0
Change them to 1, save, launch OD+

I'm unable the access the config at all. After executing ObjectDock, nothing happens but the described permanent Harddisk access and the nearly freezing.

The C:\Users\{user_name}\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus folder is empty. If I create the settings.ini and copy&paste your settings and change it to "1", the problem persists.

Sorry, that path was for Vista.

Please check here and check for settings.ini:
C:\Documents and Settings\{user_name}\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus

I used the correct path for XP. As I wrote, the folder is empty and creating a settings.ini with these settings doesn't solve the problem.
