Buildtime on planets always "Never" until you build something

Issue already in the current non-beta version existent

Hi! I noticed that if you select a building the buildtime (clock) shows always "Never" until you build something. After that all buildings have a proper display of weeks it will take to finish the building. Why do you have to build something first? Its very annoying - is it a bug?

I hope this can be changed/fixed. (this happens in the actual non-beta game and in the betas (1-3))

Placing the building sets the build time?
Because it is calculated from that point, and at your current abilities?

So, until you place it...
It won't happen.

If it is how the game works, then you work within the games' parameters.

Once you get used to it, it is no big deal - second nature.

Asking for a change/fix to how the game naturally works is, well, ignorant.
Each game has its own learning curve. And you have to adjust to it, rather than the opposite.

Hm... Actually, I'd definately call that a bug. There's no reason the game can't calculate that ahead of time. It already does for adding new things to the build queue.

And the entire point of a beta is to adjust things like the games learning curve.
Stating that something like this is part of the game and shouldn't be changed is, well, ignorant.

How is it a bug that when nothing is being built and therefore it isn't telling you a build time because as of that moment there will never be anything completed because your not building anything. When you select to build something then it will give you a build time and so on however you have it selected. If you see that you have a few quick things on the que that is only going to take a few weeks behind something that will take 40 weeks you can move it ahead of it in the build que.

The only thing that I could see a point of arguement here is to add with the building icons a popup that states at your current social rating how long it would take you to build this building, sort of like the popup on the weekly budget when you move your cursor over the bank.

I accomplish this same sort of thing by just selecting the building to start building and then if it takes too long just demolish building before any work begins, I know this requires an extra step, which is my suggestion would eliminate that step. :)

I don't think you understand how it works.
The reason it says "Never", has got nothing to do with you not building the building, it's because all your social production is converted into military production.
If you are already building something, and choose an empty tile and a building, it will show the correct time instead of "Never". So the "bug" (or whatever you wanna call it) is that the time isn't calculated automatically when the queue is empty.
