Are you using SDC to register, and what error exactly are you getting?

Thanks for replying ill go one step at a time.

1) i load it from the start menu = stardock then stardock central

2) this loads the screen on the internet to stardock central

3) then i get a small pop up and it reads enter you gal civ 2 serial number loacted on the back of the jewel case (funny what is a jewel case) (remembering i got the gal civ 2 gold edition)

4) I put in the code which is on the sticker placed on the back of the manual called the 'Galactic civilisations gold CD key: XXXXX etc' (ive done it with and or without spaces or - and it says, "The serial number you have entered is invalid. Please ensure the information you have entered matches exactly from your order mail. Use the Lookup serial button to resend your account info to the email address u ordered under"

5) a note: i never ordered anything i bought the games both gal civ 1 and 2 from the retail shops. Ive also done the key in undercase and high case letters and no effect just the same message as in (4).

6) When i press ok and return to the prompt of (3) i cancel because it wont accept my serial number and it then closes and my stardock central updates appears and show the gal civ 1 altarian prophecy has an update.

7) i have an optioj of update now or update later on so i press update now

8) a pop up appears and says, "Your galactic civilisations altarian prophecy registration is invalid please check your email address and serial number are entered correctly with the register product dialog. Would you like to purchace registration now (yes) (no) (cancel)

So that is what i get for both gal 2 and gal 1. I had registered Gal civ altarian prohecy 2 years or so ago and its always downloaded updates etc. My email has not changed since this time (although i wish to change it asap due to the email being a university email and ive finished my degree at the uni so im going to loose the email in a month or so.

How can i register and how can i change my email address with you (ive got a new one now) and quickly is there a mod in gla civ 2 that can make all planets maximum tiled in a gigantic random generated game?

Ok, still not clear on exactly how you're trying it (never seen SDC pop up a message on its own asking you to register GC2), so try this if it's not already what you did:

1) Go to the Tools menu in SDC, and choose Register Products.

2) Pick Games on the left in the Register Products window, then find GalCiv2 in the Product pull-down menu. Enter your email address (same as forum account, again) and serial number, then click Register. Repeat for Dark Avatar (use the same serial).

If that still won't work, then there may be a problem with your serial and [email protected] would need to sort that out, as I don't have access to do it. Unfortunately the office is closed for the holidays, so it'd be a couple of weeks until you'd get any response from them. If your AP reg is also suddenly having problems then that also points at some deeper issue support would need to srot out.



You can change your email just by logging in with your SDC account on the forum here (which you should already be), and going to My Account at the top, then to Stardock Account. Confirm your login then you can change all your profile info.

There's no way to entirely eliminate class 0 planets, but you could mod all races to have a ridiculous planet quality bonus so that every planet you can colonize is huge.

A jewel case is the clear plastic case that CDs come in.

Firstly lets discuss what is a serial number and what is a CD key, now you refer to the serial number on the back of the disc none of my CD's have any kind of serial number on them front or back.

Secondly the CD key wont work so im asuming i have a serial number but where is it.

Can i change my email first then re register gal civ 1 and then register gal civ 2.

Just another quick question do i have to insert the serial number in the glalactic civilisations game then register in the folder just under it named Dark avatar as well?

So rapping it up i need to find out what u mean by serial number becuase i got a CD key with letters (high case) and numbers in 5 nummerals/letters per section ie AD123-DE123-ES123-123EF (this is not my CD key just an example) is this the serial your talking about?

I vaguely remember i used this cd key to activate my gal civ 1 when i installed and registered yonks back so i assumed it would be the same for gal civ 2 except i used the gal civ 2 cd key for gal civ 2.

Um if i use the serial or the cd key to register make sure you tell me how SDC likes the serial or CD key typed so i dont think its not working and im still stuck.

Serial and CD key in this case are interchangable terms for the same thing. It would be something like the format you describe (I'm not sure of the exact format used for Gold offhand).

You can change your email at any time. For registering GC2 Gold, yes, just register Dread Lords with the Gold serial then register DA with the Gold serial (this is because there's no special Gold entry, as it's just a DL+DA bundle).

Just enter the serial exactly as it is on the CD case.

Umm the CD key is not on the case at all its on the manual (the back of it)

Are you talking about the same thing or the serial code on the bar code on the back of the case?

Umm Brenton here look maybe my SDC has had the meat chomps and needs a ree boot or something. Because i tried to register the gal civ 1 and it wont accept the serial, and neither will gal civ 2 maybe i might have to wait until after christmas until one of the r n d boys can help me, thanks Kryo for helping
