Skinning Noob/ WinXP

I need some serious help with this stuff... I am new to this and previously had Alienware's skin on. everything was fine... I dl-ed and installed a logon skin from wincustomize and then I lost half of my Alienware skin. The taskbar, toolbars, and start menu all reverted to the normal windows classic look and said that I was missing the wblind.dll file. When I tried to reinstall my Alienware skin, it worked again til I rebooted my computer... and this happens everytime I restart the computer, no matter how many times I reinstall. I lose the skins on most toolbars and menues. I tried to uninstall the logon skin and it wouldn't let me so I deleted all the folders and wasn't sure what to delete from the registry. I was told afterwards by a couple of techie friends of mine to never dl anything window blinds cause it will mess up my OS (which is WinXPpro, btw). Technically I don't even want the Alienware skin. I want one that is more me but. I don't know what to do with this. I want a whole skinning package (loadskin, logonskin, icon package, etc.). Everything. But I don't want to mess up my OS. any ideas?

You shouldn't always listen to your "techie" friends. There's a difference between knowing what you're talking about and THINKING you know.......

Try posting your system info here (copy and paste from the WB Config 'System Info' screen)., That way any of the actually WB "techies" might know where to start.....

There have been reports of some game programs deleting the wblind.dll file. Something to do with the game's security features detecting wblind.dll as a hack or bot (it's not)

One game I've seen mentioned is Hero Online

If you have seen any security messages from any game programs regarding wblind.dll you could try excluding that app from being skinned to see if that helps.
