Once BETA4 Closes do current public BETAs get updates still?

Just curious - and yes I have not done search sorry. There was a similar topic as I remember it, but that was more

a whine about a beta5

I imagine once BETA is closed that we will probably get some patches and updates.
Perhaps even the full game - or close to - relatively early.
with so many features yet to be added, it would be nice.

What the real question I am asking is, is it on the card that we "may" get significant updates before the game goes

gold.
The reason I am asking is due to the significant amount of speculation on final features that is on the forums at

the moment.
IF we do not get updates will we at least know what is in and what is not?

NOTE: It will not upset me if the answer is no.

Certain things, like the Cannon and the Advent will be only in the final, but we still get some goodies of our own :D

And the other super weapons (:( I'm kinda hoping the TEC has a better one (rumor is it can only fire at colonies 2 phase jumps away!)

and I did not know that !!! holy moly.

its not a rumor thrawn, that iddy bitty piece of info came straight from the blair's mouth.

If its movable then there is no problem. However it should be very slow.

:SNIFF!: I'm still hoping factions have more than one super weapon (like how supcom had more than 1 experimental). That or the cannon should really be a huge ship and can phase jump and maybe fire on capital ships.

To be honest though, I am not a great fan of superweapons. It will add some fun, but also turn into an arms race every game. Rather than a good series of battles or skirmishes. A successfull turtle would be rewarded with superweapons.
Thats one thing I did not like about homeworld2, it was a race for the battlecruisers with hyperspace - then all over for the enemy.
mods have since fixed this though

Supcom handled it well: superweapons suck, aren't worth the money, buy something else.

... LOL

Superweapons do not suck, they are very potent game-enders if properly supported and the enemy hasn't defended himself against them properly.

That was just the thing SupCom did right. Most units could be highly effective unless your foe had prepared the correct counter-measures, a lot of thrust/counter-thrust dynamics.

That being said, yeah, experimental units could be game breakers or total gimps depending in what they were up against (Fatboy vs massed artillary = dead Fatboy; Fatboy vs. lesser ground units = "I am the God of Hell Fire!!!").

as cigar said, obviously kosc must have been doing it wrong.

in general the money spent on experimentals is for extra "flashiness", yes they are potent, but not nearly worth their money. for a fatboy you might as well buy shitloads of T2 artillery in a heavily shielded forward base and hit his shields like a drum.

of course, make sure you dont lose your investment.

what was I doing wrong? :NOTSURE:

countering multi's experimental rush. generally if she built one of them 1) you squandered your resources, or 2) you didnt have the resources in the first place

either way, its technically "wrong", although keep in mind that I'm speaking relatively here. I'm sure you two are much better than I am at Supcom.

oh ,multi is just better at using resources , my level of wasted resources was always very high in supcom X-(

continue to expand your resources, dont ever stop doing it. Even if you feel that you got enough. If you do, thats because you dont expand enough into more units and further resources.

I noticed lordkosc stopped build new stuff as he felt he had enough. That was his downfall cause when he was about to build his first experimental unit, i was build many, plus i was building nukes and support commanders like crazy.

There will be at least one more Beta 4 update coming in the near future. As mentioned, it will include the new Diplomacy system. ;)
