Beta 2b Yor

Don't know whether to start a new thread or not but the mods can move/close this if I shouldn't have.

Finished my 1st TA game last night. Here's some of the things I found. I played as the Yor on a medium size map with abundant everything; all opponents active.

1. No crashs.
2. No graphical glitches.
3. Good performance.
4. The only weird thing I found and I don't really know if this is a bug or not, but I've never seen this in DA. When attacking the AI, the movement points remaining after the attack is not what I expected. eg. I had a fleet with 13 movements points right beside an enemy planet. I watch the movement points and attack the planet. Instantly my points go down 1, from 13 to 12, as the attack starts. After the explosion graphic completes, my movements points once again drop by a random amount. It seemed to me the stronger the ship/fleet I'm attacking the greater the drop in movement points. I found a rally point for one of the AIs and it had well over 13 fleets in a stack, but they were all crappy ships. 8,0,0 attack vs my 0,175,0 attack. These I could attack 13 times in a single turn. However if I attack a strong ship. 135,0,0 to my 0,175,0. it might cost 6 movements to attack it once. Weird.

That's it. Good work.

The ship speed bug has been around for a bit. I do recall that the devs were working on it. I'm sure thats its going to be fixed in due time.

I've always thought this might be an interesting feature. After all, fighting a battle very well might consume more energy than just moving through space. Perhaps the amount of movement lost can be directly correlated to how long the battle lasts, the strength of the enemy's weapnos (and thus their effect on your ships) and how much energy your own ships expend in that battle through weapons use and tactical maneuvering.
