TA - Need to focus on ship that causes an error message

During my latest TA game one of my ships must have been trying to go out of it's possible range. I kept getting the "We cannot travel that far..." message. The problem is that I couldn't identify the ship causing the message. Would it be possible to set focus on the ship causing the message?

Seconded, even though this has been around as long as I can remember. It generally happens to me when I target a ship to run down another ship - if the target ship gets out of the pursuer's range, it just sits there and complains.

Oddly, there is a related exploit I occsionally use for freighters. Ships will go to the end of their autopilot route before they complain about being out of range. Build a starbase to extend your range, target your freighters, then destroy or sell the starbase. The freighters will reach the target, start the trade route, THEN complain they are out of range - now that it's too late to matter. This isn't always useful, but can occasionally be a lifesaver.

Probably not that big a concern. If you can build the starbase to begin with, you can probably afford to keep it there.
