Health care sucks, Kids are cute and life is dangerous

Long story short...military health care can suck. Just imagine a rant....I'm not up to doing it justice.
The kids are outside enjoying a warm afternoon. I was taking a *well deserved* nap on the couch after church and Girl asked if she could play outside. I grunted a yes without opening my eyes and told Boy to go out with her. I can hear them playing, so I'm not really worried about it.
I can hear them playing 2 different games at the same time. Girl keeps asking Boy, "Do you want to play Princess Birthday party?" While he is playing some sort of ninja game, she is playing along....as a princess having a party. I'm not sure if he is saving her or attacking her but they are having fun together.
They are being so cute that I just have to get up and go see what they are doing.....I should have opened my eyes when my daughter asked to go play outside. She is wearing panties, a pair of white bloomers (they were under her church dress this morning) and a pair of pink shoes. I thought for a brief moment about making her come inside and get dressed, but then I said the heck with it. She is happy, the yard is surrounded by a tall fence so nobody can see my bad parenting.
And the ugly side of this is, my fence also provides me with a sense of security. I would NEVER let my kids play alone outside without that tall fence. I wouldn't even feel safe with a chain link fence. (Someone could reach over the fence) And today at church, I had that hammered home. I teach the 3 year old Sunday School class at church and the policy has always been to have parents or an teenage sibling pick them up from class. Older children are usually simply released from class. Well, today the policy changed. All children are to be picked up by a parent...no siblings, nobody is released. As far as I know that includes all children 12 and under. Apparently in DC, some children were sexually assaulted and one was abducted (4 years old)
I admit, I've been at church functions, meetings etc. and lost track of my kids. Usually at socials, all the kids are running around the gym. At meetings or classes, the kids will be supervised in another room. But there are times when I"m at the church for one reason or another and the kids are being watched by an older sibling (10 or 12ish). They will be playing in the same room or on the other side of the gym. But I've never really been worried about it....after all we are at church, right? Guess not. Link
