Why Oh Why can't I change Explorer Backgrounds Win XP

WB 6.01. Windows XP. Trying to use Skinstudio 6.0. Can this only be done in Vista? Am now using Windowpapers program. Works, but it's a bit cumbersome.

I do believe the explorer back grounds only work for Vista as you have said here.
XP does not have the same footprint for explorer as does Vista.

They havent worked in XP for ages... Vista only.
