WinCustomize Live: Ep 1 - Watch the Recording

https://www.wincustomize.com/live.aspx

The first live broadcast of WinCustomize Live finished up a little bit ago.  If you weren't able to participate, be sure to check out the recorded video.  It clocks in at around 64min and I spend most of it fielding questions from the chat channel.

Remember, this is the first major attempt we've made at this, so be kind.  In the future we're looking to integrate Skype so we can do live calls and have more than one "voice" on the video to make it more interesting.

If you have any thoughts or feedback on how we can improve the show next time, let us know!

I missed it!

EDIT: I missed the scheduling article too. LOL!

Might consider having questions for the audience so the conversation goes both ways. I think keeping the topic concurrent with the goings-on at WC is a good idea. You might want to spur the convo by reading tidbits of WC or tech news. (I'm thinking the C-SPAN model. Set a topic, wait for participants, and toss in some relevant news items or points of interest)

Overall, you handled it well, Zoomba. Good job!

Next time it'll be
  1. Shorter - An hour is too long unless there's something big to talk about
  2. Have at least one voice more than mine.
  3. Different camera angle.  I am nowhere near as heavy as that video makes me look
  4. I will have several topics ready to toss out there
If I can ever get Skype piped over the audio feed, I'll have ID as cohost, and I'll take call-ins.

Oh, I'll also talk slower.

Yeah, a half hour might be better.

Cool deal Zoom: 30 min would be good unless theres a major topic such as a upcoming release with screen shots of it or something .

Also I think a puppet show occasionally would be good... any body else miss the dino and guys from the desktop ohh and the occasional elbow?

Just watched the full hour. Didn't find it too long myself. As you said if ID is also there and you have audio for both side an hour would probably work. This also might bea good format for doing interviews with some of the top skinners...don't know if that would work with the distances involved. All in all this is a good idea.

At first I did'nt think I would enjoy it at all. But I really did enjoy it. It was'nt to long at all. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Not bad Zoomba. Decent stuff. I especially how you fielded NTs question about the Stardock shirt. Employees only polo....really high-quality. Nothing but the best for Stardock employees!!!

I don't think we're quite ready to be branching into video for "alternative" revenue streams just yet.

At least until we can figure out the PPV model

If you can figure out a way to "record" the chat and play it back with the video, that would make the recorded viewing a lot better. So we can see the questions being asked and who is asking them.

Skype would be good.

Introduce more employees.

Will the ustream program allow you to switch input to a view of your desktop?
If so you could make segments like "Live Demo" and "Live Tutorial"

I may come back with more ideas later.

jm speakman to play the recorded video simply click on the play button that sits over Zoombas image. The other link brings you to the player itself that is currently off air. Use the second link when Zoomba is live.
