Button to disable random ethical events

As many of you know, there are random ethical events. As you should know by now, "good" choices are ussually punished, and "evil" choices gets the full rewards.

Like many of those before me, I'm asking for changes. Like the "disable tech trading" button, and the "disable minor races" button (which later became a slider), I'm looking for a "disable random ethical events". Since the devs don't seem to think this needs "fixing", I would atleast like to be able to avoid this problem completely.

I'm always all for more choices for the player when setting up a game.

You can achieve this yourself by researching "Xeno Ethics". As soon as you complete it, you get asked to choose an alignment and those events are permanently disabled (for that game). Is it really necessary to add MORE options for stuff you can already do?

The problem is that if you are going Good, then you suffer from all the negative choices you have to make up until the point you research Xeno Ethics.

So would it be better if Xeno Ethics was easier to get then (i.e. quicker to research, and earlier in the tree)?

go into the tech xml file for Xeno Ethics mod it,.. make it cheaper and also give your race one of the tech that need research to help you get it faster! or just give your race this tech to start with then you will not have any of the events

i would ranter we did not have to chose so we can continue to get the random ethical events.

so i mod the cost of Xeno Ethics to cost so much that it takes for ever to research it.

also when you mod the file put it in your mod file tech folder

that way your not modding the main file. and always back back up copies LOL

Eh, I would really rather the choice was available. Not everyone wants to mess around with hackjob modding to fix things like this. Besides, getting Xeno Ethics that early could be unbalancing; you'd have a hell of a head start to things like the MCC.

I always research "Xeno Ethics" early in the game. What I want is some way to get around the broken "random ethical events" that occur until then.

What's the difference between disabling the random events and just choosing the neutral option, which usually has no penalty?

Without the button, the random events will occur.

It feels really out of character to start out as a good race, select neutral options for a while, and go back to good. That, and how random events seem lack something beyond a few clicks of a mouse.

I myself didn't see a big deal with the "no tech trading button", but apparently some people wanted it in place so techs were not traded. I'm asking for a means to disable random events in my games.
