Black Hat

As I've just been sitting around in a truckstop since yesterday I had time to do some knitting. Last night I finished knitting the black watch cap I'd been working on and seamed the top this morning.

I didn't follow any pattern for this one and just did a basic 2x2 ribbed cap. I did try something a little different with the decreases to shape the top, basically decreasing around to wind up with 1x1 ribbing. I'm not really all that happy with that part and will probably stick to a more traditional decrease pattern for future caps. Otherwise it turned out ok and fits well.

Now I have to find a Raider patch so you can sew that on it, and have the perfect cap!

Before Raider patch, value is priceless.

After Raider patch added, value is -- negative $5.00 (you'd have to pay most people $5.00 to wear it...)

Loking good Mason.

You are becoming quite the professional knitter. You should make a bunch and sell them on your next route to the North West.

Thanks, but I doubt anyone would pay good money for my poor knitting skills.

Nice noggin-warmer, Mason.

RE: The scarf I requested-- Until Simon is back to work all extras are on hold, so I won't be yarn shopping any time soon, buddy. Maybe I can get my order in and my material to ya in time for next year, but the rest of this one is looking pretty well fucked. His last full paycheck (this friday) will cover the rent, then He'll have a three day pay on the 9th, which will have to last us until the 21st, when my SS check comes...and maybe we'll be getting unemployment checks by then.

We'll be living on savings and credit cards in the meantime. Arggh.

Yeah when I saw your article about his contract ending I assumed as much. Understandable as one must have priorities. What color were thinking of anyway?

If you've got leftover bits and bobs of yarn floating around, a multi-colored crazy scarf would be majorly cool. Both of us wear black wool coats for the winter, so there's no color that wouldn't 'match.'

I'll keep that in mind the next time I go yarn shopping.
