ObjectDock doesn't let me activate already running apps

On Vista... the object dock shows shortcuts that are already running with the "white triangle".

I tried with both IE and Excel.

I clicked on ObjectDock to laucnh...realizes they are running (triangle appears) but when I minimize excel, adn click on the object dock shortcut again... a "new" version of excel launches.. it does not restore my already running excel.

is that by design?

i was expecting it would behave like OS X.. and activate the already running copy..

This is a setting.
Open the dock properties and go to the "General" section.
Click the "Misc Options" button.
Check the first box, "When a shortcut is run, if the program is already running, bring it to the foreground only"
