Debunking the Nick Berg Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy theories are scurvy!

I have been hearing retarded rumors online running the gamut from the CIA killing Berg to "he was already dead!" (as though that would make any difference). I was never able to find enough gumption to get into it with these crackpots but the kind folks over at Intelwire have done it for me. The article is worthwhile not just for the debunking but also to expose you to some of the more virulent conpiracist hoopla out there. Knowing your enemy is half the battle.

The Body of the article is here.

By far the most amusing bit of the theories debunked there was this :

  • The white chair in the video is the same white chair in the Abu Ghraib prison photos.
  • Yes, they made sure to grab that chair and use it as a symbol to the Masons! These folks asshattery knows no bounds. I am sure Jihadfighter or WA would have an interesting and lengthy take on all of this.

I think the balance is with the de-debunkers. The white chair you're mentioning is common here no doubt cause we're in NAmerica. I would bet that if you left an American facility in Iraq and went to any random edifice in Baghdad away from the US bases then I think you'd be hard pressed to find one of those exact chairs of the WalMart variety. You'd be right if it were here but in Iraq it's different. And the whatnot with the obvious voice editing and the time splicing, it's ao obviously fake. And by the way what if Clinton or any Democrat was in the White House? Wouldn't Republicans be the first to yell that he's simply 'wagging the dog'? Nice timing of the Berg release don't you think? There's so much mystery about it. His father's on a list of supposed Bush party enemies....his company isn't listed in Pa, he was carrying an anti semetic book, supposedly all alone in Iraq. Here's a Jew carrying a Koran unprotected and unarmed in the most dangerous parts of Iraq, he refused an offer to return home to the US, he ends up detained by the same US people who later denied they ever had him. Of course one has to ignore his published e*mails he sent home which stated he was held by the US......too many odd things but not the odd as in conspiracy out-to-get-bush kind, but the other kind. Things that don't add up.

Miki - isn't it hard to post these things without the CIA busting in your door? No? There may be a reason for that.

Miki, I think you're adding 2 and 2 together and coming up with 19.  How do you function, thinking like that?  Do you constantly question everythng, looking for the hidden agenda?  Do you think everyone is out to get you?

No offense, but your paranoia is simply breathtaking.

It's not paranoia to understand the video was messed with. Not at all. To you paranoia seems to be opposing what the general public is led and are supposed to believe. It's not my fault the video was spliced. It's not my fault Berg's e*mails said he was detained by the US and then the US denies ever having held him. It's not my fault the walls in the Berg clip matches the walls in the abu-grub<--Bush's version facility. None of these oddities are my fault, so why accuse me over things that I have no control over?

Of course, the Masons and Illuminati have all the controls!

Miki, I never blamed you for the Nick Berg video.  I don't see how you can even think that I did...but then again, I don't see how you can say that it's all lies either.

Just another example of Miki's paranoia, as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know. It seems shameful to talk about this sort of thing, with as terrible as the incident on the video was. On the other hand, if the allegations were true...

I have no idea why anybody would think this was a conspiracy. In what way does the murder of Nick Berg help the whole Iraqi occupation? I guess Bush's popularity has sure skyrocketed from it. I just think that usually conspiracies have some sort of purpose.

By the way, I saw this thing on FOX awhile ago that was full of conspiracy theorists about the moon landings (with not much talk from the opposition) and they proved beyond a reasonable doubt that we never landed on the moons and we murdered those who knew!

Theory: The taped "murder" of Nick Berg was intended to deflect criticism of the Abu Ghraib prison scandal.
Regardless of whether it worked or not, if that's what happened, there would indeed be a conspiracy to put the tape out there. It is odd that such a carefully crafted piece of film would not only be unsuccessful in its original aim, but would be this easily found out. Obviously, they had banked on people ignoring the "conspiracy nuts," so that when they figured it out, no one would believe them. "Wolf! Wolf!" they cry, but the townsfolk won't come running again.

they proved beyond a reasonable doubt that we never landed on the moon

the first person who told me we hadnt landed on the moon was none other than the legendary texas bluesman, sam 'lightnin' hopkins, who claimed he immediately recognized the 'moon' as a location in west texas. sometime after that, lightnin was unfortunately taken from us.

    need i say more?

Not trusting everything we are told by the goverment is a good idea. A little paranoia can keep you healthy. In most cases, though, the simplest explanation is the right one. Even though there are vast stretches of Texas/New Mexico/Arizona that look like the moon. Heck, with a couple of video cameras and about 5 grand worth of props and preparation, I could fake a Mars landing on Ft Huachuca.

You have to consider that since stone, pseudo, and myself are all members of the intelligence community and have been for a long time that *we* are the architects of these deceptions... so perhaps my denial of these things on this website is simply carefully planned misinformation. It will also allow us to target those who know too much! Muahhhahhhhahhhh!

Hell, I thought Texas WAS on the moon!?

many people who have had no choice but to travel through west texas have good reason to believe this. the truth is a bit more complicated. in fact, residents of west texas merely wish they were on the moon because "its much more scenic...and the moon's wasterland is made of cheese!". thats been a driving force behind george bush's quest for lunar mwds and cheese mines in space.

I can't hear you say that I'm a member of the secret organizations.

It was a pretty poor idea, tho, faking Berg's death. It just didn't get pulled off with enough panache. Maybe we should've used a new soundstage and props.

Next time we have to get Calangelo to be the cutter, if anyone knows how to commit a grisly execution, its him....

pseudosoldier and greywar--You know that sarcasm and wit are often not fully understood around here....You two are going to be in some serious trouble! But thanks for the laugh!

Greywar: Thanks for the link. The article was interesting, there was a lot of information that I didn't know. I haven't actually brought myself to watch the video, and I think I'm going to keep it that way. Oh yea, as for the white chair debate. When I was in the West Bank, they were everywhere...I betcha Iraqi stores sell them too!

What got me was the director's commentary at the end of the whole thing. Why in God's name did the CIA include that?

That was only supposed to be on the Special Edition DVD, which would be released months after we had sold out of the Regular Edition DVD, in conjunction with special showings in local theaters around the country as an oddly juxtaposed Double Feature with a Michael Moore film (we hadn't decided which). Of course, the popcorn would be laced with hallucinogenic butter, and the DVD would be coated in fluoride, a drug well-known for its facilitation of mind control (through the SOL, of course). It seems that our production crew, yetis from Atlantis living in Tibet, misinterpreted our instructions, although whether it was intentional or an unfortunate miscommunication, we will never know, as those responsible have been sacked.

There's a guy on gate guard here (a civvie) who looks a bit like a shorter Vince, and his accent is pretty New York. Same skin color, same nose. Not as pretty, tho.

For just a moment I thought perhaps Saiyan robot *was* the Robo-Jew but when I checked his profile it doesn't seem to fit.

Ooh. Good call, but yes, Saiyan Robot seems to care too much to be our favorite apathetic. I think RJ's only blog appearances are cameos on Chew-Toy's blog (usually saying how disgruntled he is).

jeez this was a joint venture between the left and right? thats the kind of cooperation we so sorely lack these days.

And, hey, I'm having problems finding an actual news article that confirms his possession of an anti-semitic book (and a site for it). I think it's odd that the title would be in dispute as well... perhaps I'm just not well read enough.

Many have commented on the fact that the video is "out of synch". Apparently is may be due to compression of the video according to this link which re-edits the video. Anyone know if this is possible. Caution the site is very graphic..
