Windows Blinds problem with Win XP

Hi There,

I recently purchased Object Desktop which included Windows Blinds V6.
I'm using the Molten interface but have found that sometimes when I load up my PC, Windows standard interface will load up instead of the molten interface.

Anyone ever seen this problem before?

Appreciate all the help

not sure if this will work for you, but i had a similar problem once myself. heres how i fixed it. open windowblinds and apply the default windows xp theme. once the theme is applied choose the molten theme again and apply it. reboot and see if that works. it worked for me but i cannot promise it will work for you. good luck

You might also try putting a shortcut to wbload.exe in the startup directory to see if that helps.

Lads,

Windows Blinds V6 loads in automatically.
I changed the Molten theme to a diamond theme a I found that the Molten theme interferes with my Nero application software.

Since using the Diamond, my Nero application software is working well.

Also, I've tired downloading some Windows Blinds themes and they won't load in under Windows Blinds V6.

One ile I downloaded was Vienna2 and when I tried to load it in Windows Blinds, I got the following error

There appears to be no .uis file in this skin. Are you sure it is a Windows Blinds skin?

Can you help me with this fault?

First things first:

Please go to the System Information page of the WindowBlinds Configuration page and click on the "Copy Info" button, which copies it to the clipboard.

Come back here & paste the info in a reply.

indicates a bad download.

Vienna2 should load with no problem = been using it since right after it came out.

I've had no issues with other skins, even those from WB3

something sounds borked

make sure that the file extension is .wba, it sounds as if the files are zipped, if so unzip them first before trying to load them into windowblinds. good luck mate

Try (in Internet Explorer) right-clicking the skin download button or link and select "Save Target As..." That will open a Save dialog which will let you 1) verify that the file has a .wba extension, and 2) save it to a specific location on your drive. You can then just double-click the saved .wba file to install it. Haven't seen many comments about it in quite awhile, but depending on which version of IE you're running, it does some odd gymnastics when downloading by left-click, including saving the file initially to a temporary folder, which didn't always work well & sometimes left a file corrupted or in limbo.

Hi all,

Well I don't have an explanation for this but somehow Windows Blinds V6 is working properly. I didn't make any changes to the software. I downloaded Vienna2 and it installed under Windows blinds.

I downloaded a good few skins and they too all work.

I'm puzzled.

Anyway thank you all for you help.
I do appreciate it.

Regards,
Damien.

Happy new year. My Windows Blinds software has the intermittent problem again.

When Windows default interface loads in instead of the skin, Windows Blinds config doesn't appear in the task bar.

When the skin from Windows Blinds loads in, Windows Blinds config appears in the task bar.

You don't appear to have the latest version of Windowblinds. Try updating it through SDC and see if that corrects the issue.

Hi.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But isn't Windows Blinds V6.0 the latest version.
If so, I do have it installed.
It's in my info
