Why Cant I download WB6

I have had to uninstall Wb 6 due to monior problems and I want to reinstall WB 6. My Object Desktop subscription is valid but when I try to download and install WB 6 thru SDC (current version) ...the  downoad attempts keep failing and i get acant connect error message. I can download WB5 fine if I try, but that isnt the product i want.

My guess would be with the version of SDC.

To anyone else experiencing this kind of problem, the newest version will always be here: http://sdc.stardock.com/sdcentral_setup.exe, which is currently build 160

Determine the build you're running by going to Help->About SDC.

Yes.... it was the version of SDC...
Usually SDC will automatically update on execution when connected to the internet, but for some strange reason it didnt do so in this case.
So I updated it manually and was able to download and install the product.
So i guess, that if ur having problems downloading, dont assume that ur SDC has automatically updated to the latest version.

End of quote

I am running SDC build 160 and spent 3 hours on Tuesday downloading windowblind 6 - I kept a watch on it periodically through the afternoon. I had checked on it when it was at 85% .
I returned thinking all I had to do was reboot and I have " INSTALLATION FAILED " message across SDC.

So now what ? It takes a long time for me to download from WC and to lose everything after 3 1/2 hours at 85 % is frustrating.

Fairyy~ If I remember correctly you're on dial-up, if that is true possibly a Download Manager might be the answer. You can go to Major Geeks and check on somethere. They have free ones and they seem to be able work with several different browsers. Now the thing that I'm not sure on is whether you can use SDC with a download manager program to get your update of WB6.

You might want to ask that question to Stardock or they may read this and answer or try in the IRC. It couldn't hurt to ask.

Fairyy~... don't do a download & install. Try a download straight to archive. then uninstall the one installed (archive 1st if you want) reboot, restore the newest archive, reboot.
