Going forward you MAY get more...how is that more than fair when tried and true members have renewed their memberships faithfully year after year without the promises of more bells and whistles while paying extra for premium suites like Xaphire, Spiderman, Liquidox, and Orion just to name a few & without complaint?

true statement@ drzues, it seems like some people don't get the point and try to make excuses for what a lot of people are trying to say about renewing subscriptions. Main point is many people renewed early to get the updated programs they have now and then a slap in the face with a magic suite. This could go on for too long so im going to end it here

So you don't get a skin. Big frikkin deal. I seriously hope you have more troubling things in life. If not, then life is pretty sweet and you have no reason to be pissing and moaning about not getting a skin.

I believe I stated in an earlier post that I would continue to renew my membership and be apart of this site along with all the other devoted fans. And all those premium skins that I mentioned in my last post...I paid for every one of them without a problem. Those and many more if you would like to see my history with this site. And if you sincerely "HOPE" that anyone would have more troubling things in their life, your opinion is no good to anybody. Please point out where I complain about not getting a free skin.

  I did the same thing when I received the first email announcing the new suite!! I just renewed my ODNT this morning after receiving the email announcing the release of the Magic Suite.

woot..it's friday but no theme to download , arghhh the curse of living 13 hours into the future so by the time it gets put up i guess that means you lot on the darkside of the planet will download it today while i & the rest downunder will have downloaded it yesterday

Magic is not free to WC at all.  It is for OD subscribers who have subscriptions past 1/1/09

As I said earlier, there are plans for more of this type of content for different subscribers.  However, not all content will be free to each group (as Magic is an example of)

You have taken quotes from two different members, mine being on the bottom which still does not point out where I complain about not getting a free skin. NightTrain, you are ranked as a master under Wincustomize guidelines. I don't understand why you are looking for faults in other members instead of trying to iron out ripples coming from those same members who happen to disagree with this sites methods to bring in new members. "It seems to me that this skin is an incentive for new people; people that might need a little push" This quote is not from you, but is a prime example of what the earlier members are upset about. I will still pay my dues, I will still buy premium skins that I feel are the real incentives as they give back to the artists not just the site. So when you get done reading this..take your pot shots because I'll still be here. This is not what forums are intended for, and I feel that my opinion is bringing on aggression rather than attention. So with these last words I'm finished with this argument.

The skin won't bring in new members,i can't say i've seen it advertised in any of the numerous emails i get from cnet,techrepubic,zdnet,pc world... the list goes on,it will only give food for thought to those that are already objectdesktop members which is what the intention was is the way i see it as it's nothing more than a gimmck,& yes you are correct nightrain errd lets just leave it at that & move on as the WC staff have stated there is more to come for other members etc.

I don't see what anyone's problem is. Here we have free content being provided as a thankyou for people who renewed their subscription early.

What is the incentive for a company to provide free content when all their generosity gets is a slap in the face?

Be grateful for what you have and don't envy others, you'll have a much less stressful life

It might have been better to just not advertise it and quietly give it as a thanks to those happened who subscribed into the future. I honestly thought it was going to be a free skin for subscribers and was looking forward to it until I found out we had to pay that far ahead...and well...I can't afford to pay that far ahead right now with all my medical bills. But...life goes on.

Its been said about a million times, if you are subscribed thru Object Desktop Past Jan 1st 2009 you get the suite.

I think so, atleast i'm pretty sure I saw one of the staff say so.
