I have been an Object Desktop and WinCustomize subscriber for 7 yrs and my renewal date expires "On" January 1,2009. Will I still be able to get it?   

I believe there will be a nice discount on the Premium suite for OD subscribers (who do not have a subscription past 1/1/09) when it comes out as a premium suite.  I don't think that the general release for sale is this Friday, however.  I will clarify this and post specifics once I have them.

This suite was promised during a subscription drive, so it was meant as a reward for people who renewed past that date.

OK peps... The skin is just the start of what is to come for those people here in the next year. Who are serious about the WC/Stardock community and have made this point by upgrading their SDC/WC accounts past 1/1/2009. There is to be a SDC and other special programs. Which will offer more than that of the regular users {members} would have to use for Desktop Customizing. This is only the beginning of what is to come!

Also if you can not afford to do so at this time - just for the skin... I would seriously consider it here in the future. That you try to put something back to get the subscription updated to what is needed to be part of this elite group of SDC members.

Along with the fact that in so doing you are not just looking at being part of what is to be the next generation of SDC members who... will be participating in keeping the community strong. With of course giving Stardock also what it needs to develope more and better programs. None of this is cheap or for that matter done for free. People work very hard to do these things at Stardock and they must be paid for it.

So come on get in there and be a real part of this striving great community here at WC/Stardock! Up them accounts! You will not be sorry you did. I look at it this way... I will be paying for it in the future no matter what. I have no plans to stop using any of the programs that come with my SDC account anytime soon. So I'll buy as much as I can and support as much as I can to help develope more program development. Thus making the community stronger and the people who are working hard to give us these things are well paid to do so!

Enough said... "I hope you participate and join us to make WC/Stardock the best there is!"

If you do not have a OD subscription past the 1/1/09 will you still be able to buy it and how much would it cost?.

I think fair and unfair are thrown around too much.  Those people who have been subscribing for years have already received the benefit of WC.   They got what you paid for.  It seems to me that this skin is an incentive for new people; people that might need a little push.

Nothing was taken from anyone that was promised.  Nothing is unfair.

Having said that, rewarding long-time users can't be a bad thing at some other time, right?    

Like Karma Girl said, it'll be available for sale at a later point as a Premium Suite.

We have all sorts of content for all sorts of reasons planned for this year.  RIP and Magic are just the start.

For a long time, people have been asking for premium content for subscribers, and we plan to start doing that.  However, not all content will be free to every type of subscription or customer. 

For sure! I am sure that this and other things past and present will play a big role in what is to come for those people. We have a big community old and new... everyone deserves some part of things to come!

Did you not read all the replys? The main question is why does someone who pays for a two year subscription as there first OD and Wincustomize dues ever receive such a "worthwhile" gift that this suite is being tossed around as, while the faithful and loyal members who have been paying there dues faithfully every year for 4,5,& 6 years on up are asked to pay ahead to receive this "worthwhile gift"? Sure, there have been a couple of bonus gifts, if thats what you want to call them, A blue theme of some sort and a green one if my memory serves right. But nothing as elaborate and detailed as the up coming dream suite. I love this site and will continue to be a member regardless of what happens with this issue, I'm happy to see that artists of a higher well earned caliber can now get paid for there work. But that doesn't take away the fact that there are many old and faithful members that made this whole site the success that it is. I will stop here as I have a bridge to buy still. Good luck to all....Especially Whiplash whom if you haven't heard what I'm talking about, has bigger things on his mind. Hang in there Whiplash, you'll make it through,

Yep, we know and care about what is happening with him.  Luckily, he is within driving distance of Stardock, and a few of us will be having lunch with him later this week. {{Pas}}

Stardock does care about the community and the members.  The Magic Suite is just one suite.  There will be more free things.  As I said, RIP and Magic are just the start.  We have a lot of things in the works for this year.

Also I have been a member of Wincustomize and Stardock since 2005 and I signed up for the 2 year option before I knew we got any extras... If I am not mistaken , I think? it gave me a discount to sign up for the 2 year period... Not sure about that one. But correct me if I am wrong...

I for one love the perks we are getting... Go perks....  

I renewed my subscription,even tho it did not expire until Tuesday,October 21,2008.My new date after renewal is now Saturday,October 4,2008.How did this happen?

I've renewed my OD subscription, and now it'll not expire until October, 2009. So, I will get the Magic Suite on this Friday 19/10/2007  , won't I?

Sounds like a bunch of self centered socialists---me, me, me ,me not fair for everyone etc. capitalism if you like their products buy them, if you don't quit whining.

I read all the replies Zubas, I am referring to the past, not the future if you go back and read what I said. You know the bit about faithful and loyal subscribers of Wincustomize as well as Object Desktop who have paid dues for a lot longer than 2 years and all that,,,

Every year you renewed you got exaclty what you paid for.  Going forward, you may get more.  That's more than fair.

member since May 24, 2002 seems earlier than that. I got Windowblinds before OD.
