Weekly Poll: Return of the WinCustomize CD Compilation?

In the past, we offered the community a CD copy of some of the best content on WinCustomize for a given year.  The last time we did this was in the spring of 2005, offering up skins from January 1 to March 31.  So, it's been two years now since you could get all of your skin needs on a single disk, and we're looking at whether or not there would be demand for a return to the annual CD compilations.  Of course, now with Dreams and Icon Packages that are 10-20 megabytes each, we're probably looking at a DVD now, we've grown that much!

That brings us to this week's poll.  What do you think of the idea?  Should we bring back the annual CDs?

I was just wondering about that and was going to ask whether the CD's that are for sale now would be compatible with WB6.  

I think this is a great idea. If you do start them up again I would definetly consider buying them. It would reduce the amount of skins that you would have to have saved on the HDD and free up space.  

Oh, and wouldn't they make just a fine Holiday Gift!

I want a dvd with everything including the master skins too - at what price for all the skins(masters and all)

What about a personal online skin organizer rather than dealing with CDs at all? WinCustomize is already storing the files; all we need is a way to organize them to our liking.

Unfortunately we can't include Master Skins because of how the revenue split to the artists works.

The idea behind the CDs is to make it easy for people to keep the content on-hand without having to go online, search for them, download them and then back them up.  You get the best content in the most convenient form.

A personal online skin organizer would be something we could consider for the next time we upgrade the WinCustomize browser.

I like the concept of a Gift CD/DVD.
- Include a version of WB that only runs those skins.
- Include one MyColors suite
- Include a coupon for the "full" version of WB (or ODNT or WC subs)

The skins I want I have and have already burned to CD.
The only way I'd buy a CD/DVD was to get an exclusive skin or two on it. [But then you'd have folks not buying the CD bitching about what they didn't get.  Screw 'em.]

They're another way to assist/support the site.  I buy them ....though I think the last one is as yet unopened...
