Finished My First Hat

I finished knitting my very first hat. I don't think it turned out too terrible for my first one.

Well done!

Thanks, you must have been posting your reply as I was changing the image. The new one shows the cables better.

Appreciate it.

Glad I checked back. I like the colors, and I like what I think might be cables?

Thanks. Cables - the twisted looking bits.

Maybe I should start knitting on my business trips, if I ever start traveling a lot for work. Then I could knit my wife some flowers or something so it would soften the blow.

It's beautiful, just like your scarf! I love them both!

It looks great -- especially for your first hat!

Thanks. Being my first one I wasn't too sure how it would turn out but I'm fairly happy with it and learned a few things along the way. Most of my projects are intended to do something new or make something new so I can learn from them.

Damn, that's pretty good. I suck at artful things...everything I try to make comes out hideously deformed. I did make a nice bookshelf, though.

Thanks.

I've tried my hand at woodworking here and there but honestly I suck at it.

I made a book case in Jr. High.

That will come in handy in the coming months.  Very good.

I actually like that hat Mason.  I'd wear it.

That's saying something because generally I don't like knitted things.  I like tightly woven fabrics.  This probably comes from the fact that while I was growing up...most of the trailer court kids wore knitted hats and mittens because it was cheaper than buying ready made ones.  So I tend to associate knitted items with that lifestyle.

However, you seem to really have a natural talent for it.  I am impressed by just about everything I've seen you post.

I'm fine as long as it's an angular thing...nothing fancy or curvy.

Cool. I settle for basic carpentry around the house to do minor repairs.
