Featured Dream Artist: brenopoubel

Animated Wallpapers are a big part of the Windows Vista Ultimate Extras package, a bit of visual bling that can really show off your new PC and new OS.  Made possible by Windows DreamScene, Stardock took the whole thing a step further with DeskScapes, software that lets artists package up their video creations into easily redistributable files that let them retain complete credit and control.  DeskScapes also lets us build fully dynamic wallpapers that render cool effects in real-time, without the need for pre-rendered video.

Since the launch of Vista and DeskScapes, we've been running  a successful gallery over at Dream.WinCustomize.com, and have attracted some outstanding artists with an eye for great animated backgrounds.  Today, I'd like to point everyone over to the work of brenopoubel, a user here since 2001 and only a recent contributor since the addition of the Dream gallery.  His work is some of the best with its subtle use of motion, and great use of color.   Poubel Tafiti is one of my absolute favorite submitted Dreams so far this year.

Check out these great Dreams:

Right now the only dreams I have are when my head hits the pillow.

These are nice but just can't bring myself to get Ultimate. Someone will find away to be able to do this in Windows just to show it can be done and that dreams are for everyone.

They look amazing but sadly on my Core2Duo/AtiX1650pro/1.5GB Ram system they use 80% CPU power, Nothing touches Stardock Designs Dreams for looks Vs performance.
A dream should really be maxing at 15% anything above is pointless.

Video dreams will always be higher CPU users than the dynamic ones since they use the CPU to decode the video.
