What's new with Sugar High Elf

I've been gone for a while -- not out of anger or punishment, but from being very busy. So, here's a quick re-cap of what you've missed of my life (because I know you care so much*):
1. School -- I love school. I was fairly nervous before classes started. I was afraid graduate school would be too hard for me, or that I would be woefully behind the others. As it turns out, this is not the case. I feel right at home. I love class, the professors, and have had some very interesting conversations with fellow students. I actually feel ahead of my medieval lit class thanks to my old medieval professor who forced us to read in Middle English. (Thanks Dr. R!) Let's just hope I feel this way after the 25 page paper...
2. Job -- The job is going... ok. I still like most of the people I work with, and I have the respect of the professors, but there's too much stupid stuff that goes on. I'm sure this happens in every department -- and in every job, for that matter -- but from what I hear, my department is one of the worst. There may be updates about the career coming soon, but for now, that's all I'm going to say.
3. Love life -- I actually have one! Zach, the same guy I've been talking to for months (since February), and I are finally going out. Not only that, but I've fallen in love with him. Fortunately, he's fallen in love with me too. Funny story to go with that -- He actually said "I love you." two weeks before I did, but I didn't understand him, didn't say it back, and he felt hurt for a while. However, he got the nerve to say it again, and this time, he said it loud and clear. I still say it's his fault for saying it in my deaf ear... Things are going really well between us (knocking on wood with crossed fingers) and we're pretty happy. Plus, we rival each other for "Nerd of the Year", so we're perfect for each other.
4. Pets -- I still have my cat. She has been renamed "Kit" because her old name (Rowan) just didn't fit her. Her full name is Miss Kitty Fantastico (and I bet SanC knows where I got that name) but I call her Kit for short. She's going to get fixed soon so she can enjoy going outside to play with the other cats.
5. Roomates -- Jenn and I are getting along fine, though she is planning to move out next summer. At that point, I'm going to live on my own. Let's face it, I'm too spoiled to share!
6. Friends -- I've made several new friends since I've moved up here. I'm still friends with John (aka 'Shower Guy') and should be headed over to his house in a minute to play Sing Star karaoke game.
7. Other -- I'm planning to get a new tv soon. I'm thinking the 26" Vizio from Walmart, though I may get talked into going with the 32". We'll have to see about that. I'm having a Pumpkin Party this weekend where everything has to be made with pumpkin. This should be... interesting, to say the least. One of my coworkers has found pumpkin beer.
That about sums me up. I'm going to go sing my heart out now. I'll try to catch up around here. I've been a bad elf and have neglected my blog.
See ya!
