Hello,

Ok, one more question.......Will all of the WindowBlind skins that are out there on WinCustomize work with the new WindowBlinds 6? Again.....thank you.

Most earlier WB skins should work fine with WB on xp and vista.

I am trying to update to WindowBlinds 6 and I keep getting the error:

Load: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\install\wb6.xml 0 (file not found)
Result: Auto Archive failed (13)

I have tried turning off auto archive so I can do the update but to no avail. It still does the samething.

Is anyone else having this problem or know of a solution.

One other thing which probably does not belong here but I could not log into this forum with IE. I have to use Mozilla to get in.

Neil is being a little vague and misleading.Every skin here will probably 'work'with wb6,especially on XP.
Vista is a different matter...if they havnt been tweaked for Vista, certain elements will be a bit off.(the skin still works, just dosnt use the xp elements entirely correctly)

The oldest skin I have that isnt slightly buggered by the changes in WB over the years is dated december 2006.So before that it will be hit and miss...you may not even notice unless something is really messed up(toolbar buttons)

Lots of skins have been made since then so...

I had a problem with one of my rigs repeatedly hanging when SDC tried to update itself, it was stuck on autoupdate so I couldn't intervene, just had to kill it with TM each time.

Here's what worked - uninstalled SDC via Add/Remove Programs. Deleted the Stardock\SDCentral folder after copying Stardock\SDCentral\Backup to another location. Rebooted. Reinstalled SDC from stardock.com downloads section. Installed SDC from that file but did not run it at the completion of the install. Rebooted. Launched SDC & it autoupdated this time without a hitch. Was then able to install the release version of WB6.

Don't know if SDC is the source of your difficulty, but might be worth trying that drill, then trying the WB6 install again.

If a skin has not been tweaked for vista then WB will do the best it can.  It will not be exactly as the skin author would design it, but the skin will work fine.

In general WB has forwards and backwards compatibility with skins.
