Day of the Elderly

Always looking for a Holidaly or Celebration!

A quick check this morning of Earth Calendar shows three International Holidays or Celebrations today. Day of the Elderly, wonder if anyone is at work at Stardock, Raccoon Appreciation Day and Music Day. Other celebrations include Labour Day in Australia and Stone Fishing Ceremony in French Polynesia.

Raccoon Apreciation Day, now that sounds like it could turn into a Wild Party

Thanks for stopping by Zubaz.

jebro and sydneysiders your both welcome. I can't remember how or when I came across Earth Calendar but it does provide some fun and useful information at times.

Have a great day.

Feeling a bit elderly today, no snow but 40F so brought some wood up from the basement to get the fireplace going. Bones are finally warming up & a hot bath later will take some of the ache out of my joints Thanks for the link Philly, and no raccoons as long as I keep my trash in the shed Oh hey maybe thats where the party is

back from the Tetons

above the tree line

This IS the Tetons. My backyard. Close to treeline, more like quakeys, cottonwods and conifers. Stardock Weather says "34F, each nite freezing for the week, days 60F". Ole Man Winter peeking over the hills...

I google-earthed it when you mentioned it before and looked at the pics.....it's a stunning spot......

stunning

Pretty close to being as it was 500 years ago. Filter your drinking water, though. Check this out: over the summer and spring, so far this year, 30 bears have been killed on the highways here. Seven bear attacks on people, some just stepping out of their homes. Big "shooter bull" ranches where they raise elk to have folks fly in and shoot something. The innards are thrown on a "scrap pile" and the grizzes love it so they all come around. Some people are just dumber'n'a cottonwood fencepost.
Oh, yeah: topic... I WANT MY DAY OF THE ELDERLY!

Unbelievable......

Stupidity abounds all over though.....we have an island, Fraser Island, where there are the purest dingos left in Australia.......tourists feed them......then when kids wander on the beach the dingos naturally go after then...and if no food...can attack....
People forget they are wild animals.....consequently they are talking about fencing off the camping grounds etc.......idiots always manage to spoil things for everybody else......    WWW Link

"Dingos are Australia's wild dog, thought to have been brought from Asia by visiting boats, or perhaps with the Aborigines"

Get the fool humans outta there, man. Leave all those places for the wildlife. If we'd get our shiite together, we'd be colonizing planets instead of whacking eath other and whatever's in reach. There. So. [Mebbe oughta save that stuff for Day of the Elderly only...now where's me fookin' pistol...gotta go shoot somethin'... ]

Humans do have a way of mucking things up, especially when they look on themselves as the more intelligent or higher species. Go figure.

Happy just to be in the boat, with an oar.
