Text background...perpixel frames.

Text background...perpixel frames.

why is it cutting out the titlebar?

the edges are cutting a chunk out of my titlebar.AND,the left and right content margins dont work for the perpixel titlebar...they are using the damn settings from the regular frames.

It is best to ignore the previews in SKS5.

I always do.  (I mainly use the preview for navigation)

Sounds like the built in offset for the icon is screwing things up then.Whats wrong with just having the text start and stop where I tell it to?

I tried centering it,which helps on display properties windows...but popup dialogs are still buggered and they are all still different from explorer.

Blend is not capable of some of the effects that replace can do (such as making parts more transparent, or changing the colour of a transparent area while keeping the same level of transparency). Of course blend can do things that replace cannot do too.

Not real sure how useful any of that is,or what it even means...we just want it to behave like 90% of the rest of the images in WB...like the taskbar buttons...they just sit on top.

I would guess it is linked to if the window has an icon or not.

In past skins where I removed the icon from the skin alltogether, the content margins remained consistant..if that helps.

Yeah, you can turn the system icon off for regular frames but I wasnt sure how safe it was to delete that one in a per pixel skin.

I'll have to test it using another skin. Its that 'builtin offset'that has me worried.
ISnt that why regular frames have two different content margin settings?

Maybe there is way to add that line of code...in the codeview that SKS6 dosnt have.

Per pixel frames automatically handle the no icon / icon case by shifting the text as we found this was something that was a problem in non per pixel skins.  Few people used the no icon settings.

If you want to edit the UIS directly then you can always use notepad.

Editing in Notepad is no big deal. Skinstudio going directly to the right location in the code for you is/was a nice feature. It's one of the reasons I still prefer SKS 5.

Its not working right then...and I always set both on regular frames.Dumbing it down dosnt help, only takes away a choice. If the skinner cant be bothered to set it,thats his problem.

Consistant behavior from any setting is something we really need...I beg and plead and curse til I'm nuts...then settle for 'hope this isnt too messed up on too many pc's.Stuff like this gets blamed on the skinner...makes us look like we dont know what we are doing.Truth is some of us push the softwares capabilities so hard we expose inconsistancies and bugs in the prog.

We dont mean too...I just get crabby when I run into things like this and have to workaround it...then remember all this stuff the next time.My brain is like Kelly Bundys...put too much in and somethings gotta go.

So I guess that means sorry Neil if I gripe at you too much...I can only imagine the difficulties in coding something like WB.Gimme a sharp tool and I'll make sharp blinds.

Tried manually adding the code for text shift no icon but wb aint biting on that one.

In theory you should be able to shift the icon over by the builtin offset amount and get the text to line up in the same spot but no luck.

Horizontal alignment(left, center, right)reacts differently to any content setting.

And if you try centered titlebar Text?
I'm using centered for active and left align for inactive(the skin IS called slider  )

Problem is both use the same content settings and react differently to them.So now you have to bring the margins in even further.

Its should be simple ..set the margin and Text just DOES NOT go past that point...ever.

Something that would have at least helped with Slider...being able to turn off the text background for maximised windows...maybe possibly?

Any news on this ever being looked into?Neil asked if we wanted it to be capable of NOT cutting into the titlebar...but never came back to say anything else. :SNIFF!:

So in this skin you would want to make the bottom part of your image the same as the titlebar.

An impossibility...then it wouldnt match the maximised window graphic. :p

I dont see whats funny about that  :NOTSURE:  ;p

If you want it to blend instead of replace, use BackgroundEffect = 1 on the [WindowFrame.TextBackgroundPerPixel] section

Amen Neil...worked like a charm.Thanks mister.

Query...I see effect 6 is blur...but a lot of us have been using 10(which is of course not in the dropdown)...what is the difference?

I would never have tried a Background effect for anything but frames,Start menus and taskbars(and I try a lot of crazy stuff)...thanks for the info. :)

Now it just needs a third and fourth state to work...it shows normal and pressed, but maxxed frame dosnt have its own states.

Sometimes restored frames and maxxed frames are very different. If a 3 and 4 state were there(or a seperate pair of images were available for maxxed frames) ...you would have the option to make the graphic match better...or even blank for no image.

Thats what I was originally trying to do on Slider...a 'sliding' back for active/inactive...and no back for maxxed. ;)

Still...having proper translucency work there is good. :)
