Custominzing GC2Types.xml

I haven't used mods at all, but I'd like to use a customized GC2Types.xml file for Dark Avatar. Can I do that by enabling mods putting it the mods directory? If so, where exactly does it go?

It goes in the \Data folder of whatever mod folder you have specified.
Since I use Kryo's Hull System Mod mine goes in Mods\KHSM\Data.

Can someone out there help me ,. yet again? It seems every time I try and use Mods onGC II 1.5,. I seem to do all the right things and still no modifiaction.
