18 yrs age restriction in desktopgadgets.com

Why it is so

I made a gadget with all my effort and was very much eager to post it on desktopgadgets.com.
But what I saw was really disapponinting. It showed up a page that one who is less than 18 yrs old cann't post a gadget to it.   I am 16 year old and it is telling me to wait for 2 yrs.      
In todays era when even the kids are to much close to gadgets I don't think that rhis restriction is right. If the gadget has quality then what it has to do with age of its developer.???

My guess is that this is because we have to pay you, and therefore you have to be a person we can enter into contracts with, and 16 may be too young. I do not know for sure, though, so I will ask our personnel manager.

The 18 year old stipulation is a legal one.  Unless you are 18, you can't legally go into contract, therefore, we can't have a contract with you.  So, we can't sell your product and pay you.  I'm sorry, but until you are 18, we can't legally sell your gadget.
