The Master Skins - 2007 So Far

Some of the top skins of the year

https://www.wincustomize.com/articles.aspx?aid=161513

At the start of 2007 with the launch of the new WinCustomize, we kicked off something new in the skinning community, an opportunity for some of the most veteran and well-respected members to sell their work directly to users via one of the largest skinning sites on the net.

It was our way of giving back to many of the individuals who have helped make WinCustomize what it is today.  We had the infrastructure, and we had the reach to millions of users and felt it was time to show our appreciation to our Master Skinners by opening the service to them.

In all, we've released 22 Master Skins through the program so far this year.  They've been some of the best WindowBlinds skins, Suites, Themes and Gadgets that we've seen in over a year.

Hit the link below to read a look back on the program after just 8 months, as well as see all of the skins released under the program so far.  They're definitely worth your consideration.

I would add what a fine group of people they are. Congrats to all and all that follow in their footsteps.

I still think there are better WB skins for free. Like Vienna,Ecliz,Emminence etc

Mind you the Master .Dreams are amazing Liquid and Earth are fantastic

Pity noone is making really hot Iconpackages anymore in Vista I'm still using the bundled icons.I'd happily pay for a good one

All in all I think it's a great idea, just a pity that it hasn't attracted some better artists, as alot of the competition to Stardock Design seems to have vanished !
The Skins Factory anyone ? wonder where they went ?

Apart skins are becoming more and more hard and long to do and may justify some $ in return, for the users, it's definitivly the right way to pay (ODNT), to pay (access to Wincustomize) to pay (masters skins) for having the right of having a nice suite on his PC ...

What else now ?

They seem to focus on making websites these days based on their website. I don't think they've made a new GUI skin in years and even those were made by skinners from WinCustomize for the most part.

Most of the skinners are currently working on MyColors. But you'll see a resurgence this fall me thinks.

I look forward to some new iconpackages but the amateurs still rule the roost in WB.
Just curious about The Skins Factory as I noticed alot of their work on DeviantArt and wondered why their stuff had vanished from WC.
Always nice to have your question personally answered by the CEO thanks Brad
