Tabbed Docks

Backing up Tabbed Docks

I have created 9 customized tabbed docks that I would like to backup. I can access them through my docks, and change them as needed. I spent a long time setting them up (custom icons, links, and so on), and I don't want to lose them.

Please advise me as to how to back them up. I have looked for them in the primary ObjectDock Plus folder, but I dont see them there. I can only see them when I manage my docks. I see no backup option anywhere in the program. All help is appreciated.

Thanks, winstar4

Look in the My Documents folder for a Stardock folder. Inside there should be a folder called "Backed Up Themes" folder.

Wow, that was simple enough   . Thanks for responding so quickly MontyXP.

MontyXP is there a way to drag regular docks to different positions? I can drag tabbed docks, and I see how to change the position of a regular dock, i.e. distance from edge and so on, but I don't see a way to do simple dragging on regular docks, just tabbed ones.

Thanks Again, winstar4

I'm on Vista, the Stardock directory in my documents doesn't have anything except a Dreams directory. When I save/backup the theme it doesn't give me any idea where it is saving etc. Anyone know where ObjectDock does this? Thanks.

Winstar : I don't think you can drag the regular dock. In the config box there is positioning and left, right, top and bottom.

Excalpius : I have Vista Ultimate, in the Stardocks folder(in my docs) I have 2 folders Dreams and ObjectDocks Library. I have Objectdock Plus if that helps.

You can try C:\programs\Stardock\Objectdock\Themes.

Hey guys...For myself I don't really care for having the stardock folder in "My Documents"...I pretty much take care of that myself. I've created over 270 set of docks for skins and I have every one of them still in my Programs/Stardock/Objectdock/backgrounds folder...and you can be sure I don't want to lose any of them. So I just created a "Saved Docks" folder in "My Documents" and I just keep copies there.

As far as moving the regular non tabbed side docks....You can move them left/right/top/bottom as well as moving the side docks up & down or the top docks left & right with the slider under "Positioning" ...Align Top-Centered-Align Bottom...and you can uncheck the "Automatic distance from edge" box and move them that way as well.

Many of the side docks I created have the one side chopped off since before we couldn't move them off the edge if I'm not mistaken, but I'm in the process of redoing all of them. If you have any of mine in particular that you use a lot let me know and I'll put them on the list to be done sooner. : )

That's what I tried to explain WG you just said it better.

MontyXP and WebGizmos, thanks for all your input. It helps me understand ObjectDock Plus better. For what it is worth, below is a link to my ONLY (lol) creation so far. I posted it under screenshots. But hey, I just got this program, hopefully I can make more and get better at it too . WebGizmos, can you share a link(s) to some of those creations please?

Monty, thanks. Yeah it was in its own directory. Old versions are somewhere else, but the one I just saved was found in the directory you speak of. That means everything is being backed-up and mirrored for me the way I wanted. Thanks.

Winstar: I love your tabbed docks! They are the most elegant docks I have come across. I didn't download your tabs because of this post (just saw it today) but I downloaded it earlier when I upgraded to ObjectDock Pro. It's the only Tabbed dock I use Great job!
