The mic amplifies your voice only if it's near your mouth.

A tiny rant on how to use a microphone.

To the lady who spoke at the building renovation initative meeting:

If you don't know how to use a mic, then get off the stage.

A mic is not meant to be placed next to your papers. Nor is the mic head supposed to be facing your shoes.

Perhaps you have never been on stage. Perhaps this is your first public speaking forum. These are not excuses. Unless you’ve spent most of your life in a cave, you have seen a microphone in action.

Thank you. I feel much better. :-)

That certainly made me laugh.  There are many people who need to receive your speech. Should I go get the mic for you?
