Window mode vs. Fullscreen

Does playing in Fullscreen mode VS. Windowed mode affect memory usage and gameplay? I have always got the occasional graphic driver problem and it will boot the game to the taskbar and I simply have to reopen it ( takes about 3 secs ), but since playing in windowed mode it happens ALL the time. Anyone else have this problem?

I've been playing windowed mode for a couple of months and haven't noticed any difference.

I have noticed that any other program that takes CPU focus will send Galciv2 to the background. (My most common one is AVG Anti-Virus, when it updates). It almost looks like a CTD, but it comes right back when you click on it in the taskbar.
