Now THAT'S A Cup Of Coffee!

As I mentioned in another article, Elie (MM) sent me some of his home roasted coffee beans as a house warming gift. Yesterday I purchased a new coffee grinder and this this morning I put it to use.

I have to say that our good friend Elie is a master coffee bean roaster. This is without question the best cup of coffee I have had the pleasure of drinking in a good many years. I drink a lot of coffee while out on the road, sometimes it's good, sometimes it would be better used as a drain cleaner. I had forgotten how much better freshly ground coffee can be over the pre-ground and packaged stuff.

My thanks again to Elie, this is truly a treat.

I'm jealous, ours still hasn't arrived. (~curses mailman, bastard probably stole it.)

Geez, you could be right. It really should have arrived by now. Sorry you're missing out, it really is quite good.

I love the smell of freshly ground coffee and freshly brewed coffee from that freshly ground coffee, but I've just never been a big coffee drinker.  Mocha's, Caramel Macchiato and such definitely.  Caramel Frappuccino and other blended drinks at Starbucks definitely.  Coffee straight up (or heavy with lots of sugar as I typically drink it) every now and then, but more frequently hot tea.

But, I am jealous of the smell and aroma that I'm sure you have there.  Good coffee smells are one of the smells that my screwed up nasal system actually lets through and I do enjoy them.

yeah, few things can compare to the aroma of fresh coffee.

I've never been fond of those blended things and prefer straight coffee. Even a lot of the truckstops are starting to serve the blended things, cappucino (sp?) and crap. I just want a cup of joe.

That could make me take to drink again - coffee that is.  I do love a GOOD cup of coffee, but since that is not easy to find, it was easy to give it up.

Enjoy it!

True, a lot of places serve crappy coffee. I've never understood the attraction of Starbucks as their stuff is horrible.

geeze I hope by now it has arrived sabrina.

I am glad you are enjoying your coffee Mason, I buy the beans green, they are much cheaper that way and then roast them at home, nothing beats a fresh roasted, fresh ground cup of coffee.

I concur that MM's coffee is hands down the best coffee I've had in a very, very long time ( and possibly ever).

Now we see the real plan... give away a few pounds for marketing your coffee bean roasters.

MM Coffee Roaster - The only way to roast your own coffee beans.

YAY! Got it today!

Ooo and it smells so good!

I'll run up to food lion later and grind it, will report on flavor in the morning!

THANK YOU ELIE! (smooche, smooche, smooche)

Cool. You're going to grind it all at once?

You can pick up a small grinder at Wally World for around $25. I bought one the other day, a Mr Coffee one. Works quite well.

I need to get out more often...I guess maybe I don't know what a good cup of coffee tastes like. Its sort of like beer, each person has their unique tastes. Marcie and I got a Gevalia coffeemaker for our wedding and with it came a free couple of boxes of coffee. Well they kept coming! lol. I tried a few times to get them to stop, but they kept coming. So now we have 10 boxes of coffee which is about five lbs...just waiting to be used (Ive been thinking about giving them away). But to me, they make a pretty good cup of coffee, better than folgers anyways. All I have is their signature and Mocha roasts.

Actually, now I just need to find a good iced coffee (flavored) recipe.

Do ya keep kosher, Elie? If'n ya don't, do ya like country ham? It's majorly, MAJORLY salty, and a little bitty slice goes a long way if you use it for cooking rather than eating, say...to flavor a pot of beans or greens.

no thank you dear, just float a couple kisses across country and that will be fair exchange.

Well I sure as hell ain't gonna kiss ya, so I guess I'll just have to send ya something when I can think of something appropriate to send.
