Activation Problems

Window Blinds and Icon Packager

Hi.
I'm having a problem with activation on two products. I just upgraded to Object Desktop. In 2006 I purchased Icon Packager Extended and Window Blinds Extended Versions. They were uninstalled on the computer I'm using.

When I install these two products through Stardock Central I receive an error message that these two products are listed under a different e-mail address. The original products were registered to the same e-mail address I always use. I saved the registration e-mail messages from Stardock and the e-mail address is the same on the two products as the one I used to register Object Desktop.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction on how to fix this problem. I don't want to wait another couple of days to get an answer from support.

Very disappointed in this product right now. I really do feel like I wasted my money. So much aggevation.

Thanks.

are you installing these using the separate serials or did you register your Object Desktop Serial which covers these as well?

Bichur, thanks for your response.

I installed with the Object Desktop and that's when I got the message. The system said it would let me download and install but that was it. Every time I click on Window Blinds it asks for an activation number because "I have products registered under a different e-mail". The computer I installed this on has no other copies of the programs and the e-mail address used to install Desktop is the same as the standalone products. I saved the e-mails from the original purchases just to be sure.

Now every time I click on Window Blinds, it sends me to the internet site. What a piece of crap! Sure wish Stardock cared enough to have support 7 days a week and/or a phone number you could call.

In answer to your first question, no, but then I don't get paid their salaries either. If a company charges the amount they do for software, I believe they are obligated to serve their "customers". But that is a different story. It seems true customer service is going the way of the dinosaur. Money is the bottom line now a days. I'll get off my soap box now.

In answer to your second question, at one point they were but I uninstalled for various reasons. Now I'm interested in personalizing my pc again.

Then there is possible some remnant somewhere associating the new with the old..

suggestion...
uninstall WB and IP (move skins and packages somewhere safe)...
find and delete the Windowblinds and IconPackager folders - not sure where in program file the standalones go
reboot...
run a cleaner (CCleaner is free and has a reg cleaner)
reboot...
try again via SDC

In the activation window you should enter your e-mail address you registered OD with and your OD serial number.

SDC usually activates products when they install, but if you have two different stardock.net accounts then you need to enter your information when it asks you.
