iPhone "Touch Time" Being Sold in India

If you are India and don't want to purchase an iPhone, but maybe just want to have a feel for it.....literally, then this promotion could be for you. A marketplace ad on Facebook is offering a 15 minute "touch" experience for just 500 rupees, or $12 (US).

Considering the way some people were jumping around trying to get their hands on an iPhone during the recent launch, charging for the touch might not be such a bad idea. Hopefully this promotion won't be considered at the Apple or AT&T stores anytime soon.

You know the only thing about this that nearly surprises me is that this doesn't really surprise me. I'd almost expect this from some of those apple iAnything fanatics that I'm now really starting to think some should be recommended hospitalisation for their own safety... I wonder if this'll be sucsessful.

Paying for the touch... I mean jeez . Unless I'm missing something it's not the only touch phone. When I upgraded a month or two ago I think there where 2 or 3 touch phones available I could upgrade to but I gave them a miss.

Personally though I think you should be able to have a good feel and play around with ALL phones in the shop when your looking at a new one. All they ever display is static display models with next to nill details- so you can pick on style and then find out it doesn't function the way you'd like finally upto 12hours later after it's charged.

I think its funny as hell...actually having someone pay to just touch the phone. Just shows you how silly human beings are anymore.

I agree, people are actually getting sick when it comes to technology and new gadgets. People will do anything for them. From camping out in a Best Buy parking lot for a week, to spending $1000's of dollars for it. I heard one guy even had surgery on his hands in order to be able to use the iPhone, since his hands were originally too big! Now this! People have always been nuts when it comes to new things on the market. I remember when Cabbage Patch dolls were a big item and people went nuts for them. I also blame the media for this craze. They tell people that they need/want these items. You NEED HD TV, you NEED an iPone, you NEED a Play Station 3. People get sucked in like a bunch of brain washed rats and give in. It's actually pretty sick really.
