A Shoestring Lotus
In the darkest places of our lives
there is the brightest light.
Even a penlight seems a beacon
in such darkness.
We could never see the light
without such darkness.
Our darkness is our mind.
It is a mind that creates everything.
Mindful practice is a light.
We walk with this light,
we eat with this light,
we speak with this light.
Mind produces mind
Light and darkness are one
The finite hand and universal hand
Enclose vast emptiness.
Form? Emptiness?
Just put on your shoes.
