mission 2 dread lords in tought mode

Hello, have you any advice to complete the mission 2 of dread lords in thought mode ?
My economy falls from the start and i'm stuck before research of planetary invasion.

I colonize the four planets I can have, the fifth is always for the drengin.
To steal technologies, I spend the max on espionage at the start until I have "advanced espionage" then I put 5-6 bc.
I rise the taxes until morale drops to 30%, and production is lowered more and more to have positive revenues, but revenues drops more and more and I'm stuck around year 2230.

If I don't rise the taxes, morale is ok but economy falls sooner.

Please help me

In mission 1 in thought mode, I sold techs to Altarians to keep budget ok, but in mission 2, i'm alone.

Thanks for your advices.

Hi!
I can't help you with the mission. Too much time passed when I played it. But from your post i suspect you need help on overal game strategy and mechanics. Like:

I rise the taxes until morale drops to 30%

Usually a player rises the tax to 70%+ (below 40% approval) when he's grown all his planets to their max pop level. That usually means ~12B pop everywhere, with most morale "wonders" and one morale resource fully mined, or ~16B with two-three morale resources.

Try searching this site for startegy guides, they will probably help you more than the specific help you asked for.

One thing that Iz didn't quite say which is pertinent to his advice...

Your population stops growing on any planet when the morale of that planet drops to 40% or less. No pop growth = no tax revenue growth.

Also with your overall civ approval at 30%, you probably have 1-2 planets significantly lower. You start losing population for a given planet when that planet's approval is at 19% or lower.

The key to this game is ALWAYS learn about / provide for ECONOMY first. You probably need to research more economy enhancement techs early, build a lot more money buildings, and you probably won't be able to do it all with taxes - you'll need some trade, some anomaly cash bonuses, an ecomomic or morale resource exploited, etc.
