Few Questions for a Brand New Beginner

Hey everyone, I am JUST beginning to use DesktopX, as in I just started last night...and I have a few questions pretty please

1. Is window blinds mainly for XP users, or is it for both XP and Vista?

2. Is there a way to load a desktop theme through DesktopX and have all MY links already set properly...what I mean is, whenever I load a desktop I have to go through the Object Navigator function on the builder and re-route and re-name all the links under the Internet tab, Office Tab, Customize Tab, so they will link to my specific programs and this takes a while. Especially if I want to do this for more than one theme....I hope I was clear enough on this question....

3. What exactly does bootskin do?

Thanks....I am sure this is just the beginning of a mass of questions I will have.

WB is for both but the majority of skins are XP builds only but as vista grows in popularity it will gan a larger library.

DX. with varying PC configurations it would not be easy to try and guess everybodys preferential programs as well as installation directory's.

bootskin changes the default boot image you see when windows is loading..(the image with the animated bar in it)says windows is loading or something.. ive used bootskin so long i forgot...

Thanks a bunch for the help, and sorry for the double post....

So I take it, that everyone spends quite a bit of time editing each theme they like to suit their preferential programs, and installation directories....no problem...just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing things the long way....

I will have to try this bootskin...sounds fun...

again, thanks and i am sure I will have more questions to come

Bootskin is a blast . . . it's one of my favorite parts of the whole StarDock line of products . . . once you get into it, it's hard to stop.

You will find that some DX theme authors make blank panels(small icon trays) appear when you click on a button ... say graphics. The way these work is by drag and drop. Simply open up windows explorer, navigate to your graphics program of choice and drag the program to the menu tray. Desktopx will place that program's icon on the tray which can then be used to launch the program. It's that easy. Just remember to save the theme in DesktopX Builder mode, so it will save your changes.
