Having problems with window blinds 5.50 and trial 5.51

hi, I own a copy of windows vista I found out that windows blinds 5.0- 5.50 doesn't work so well with vista.... I have tried my many times to get it to work with vista ultimate, sometimes the configuration will open up at start up alot times it won't even bother opening up... also during the past 6 months I've been working on 6 custom skins of my own and none of them has a problem they work well with winxp pro sp2 but will not load up on vista and change the skin of my desktop.... I don't know whats going on with window blinds but I'm at a point to where I'm gonna snap..... is there a specific (version) of window blinds I could try ?

Hi MadMikeXP, there will be more experienced people by that can look at this info and try to help, but I have to say that I don't ever remember seeing scores for Windows Experience so low. I'm thinking the hardware/memory configuration just might be the problem or it may have to do with running the trial version. Lets see what the others say.

well I don't think its the hardware at all, minus the fairly new video card and monitor everything in my case is brand new. I just built this 9th computer last week and it hasn't given me any problems even with vista installed on it...

For starters to clarify

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

This indicates purchased version yet in thread title you talk about trial, if you have purchased version, why would you install trial.
If trial is installed, uninstall it, reboot, run something like CCleaner, reboot, reinstall thru Stardock Central the purchased version to get latest build ( not sure what that is for vista.
Also if you have purchased version you may want to go to your settings page here and cross reference email, you show as visitor but if purchased WB should be current customer or past customer depending on when purchased. Both of these give you more download cap than visitor, current customers get unlimited for the apps the have bought.

is there a specific (version) of window blinds I could try

WB 5.50 is Vista 32bit compatible, 5.51 is first with Vista 64 bit support

Where did you obtain this copy of WindowBlinds? You should have better results if you remove this copy, reboot and install either the 'trial' version or purchase the full version at - WindowBlinds

I obtained a copy of wb 5.50 from stardock a couple months back ago this year this has been the one that caused so many problems with my vista computer.... I just redownloaded the lastet trial of wb so now its not causing all of those problems that I had earlier.

thanks for the help.

There has been an update since then, current is 5.51, download and install Stardock Central (SDC), use it to register WB, menu bar Tools-Register products. Uninstall trial, reboot etc. then install latest version using SDC.

download SDC
