Windowblinds 5 sometimes non-responsive

I have the latest version of Windowblinds 5 as installed by stardock central.  The issue I'm running into is that when I'm using a custom skin with windowblinds the computer becomes unresponsive.  For example when I go to the start button then all programs then a group it will just hang there for a few minutes then the menu items will appear.  Launching programs the same thing: click on the icon in the quick-launch menu and sometimes the program will just hang and appear a few minutes later.  Same thing with opening my computer.  You get the idea random minutes long pauses.
When I set the skin to the built-in Windows XP Style this behavior does not occur.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

AngelOfDeath0737 does this occur with your initial boot up or when you change WB's? Some WB's do cause some hang ups and usually a logout and login or a reboot takes care of it.

It doesn't happen on initial boot, it happens randomly when a custom skin is active. When the built-in windows theme is used it doesn't happen. It strongly appears to be related to the explorer.exe process because when it happens it always happens when explorer needs to access media (cdrom, hd, reading menu items in start menu, etc.). I think it may be some kind of timeout on a resource - Windows hangs until the timeout is over. That's as far as I've gotten trying to fix it.

Logging out or rebooting do not change the condition.
Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.
