Questions about Apogee theme

Hi all,
I'm considering buying the Apogee theme for use in Vista, but am unsure about a few points.

In the requirements it says that it needs 110MB RAM, does that mean that after installed, these icons will take up an extra 110 MB of RAM on top of the default Vista icons?

Can I choose to selectively apply the icons in the package, keeping the basic Vista icons in some instances?

What is the minimal software that I need to install in order to be able to apply the icon replacements?
In the requirements it says "Object Desktop OR IconPackager 3.1". If I download any of these two Stardock programs, since I only intend to use it to install the icons, does any of them have a reduced-mode free version? Or must one actually buy one of these two products in order to be able to use the icon package?

Since the Apogee theme doesn't contain icons for all types of files (e.g. it doesn't have .tex, .ps, .dvi, .flac, etc.), is it possible to pick one of the existing icons and change only the extension name?
For instance, a ".flac" file is a music file, so perhaps it would be possible to use the same icon as .wav or .wma, changing only the file extension name, or perhaps even colour?
Is this possible "out of the box" with this package, or does one need to use additional software?

After buying a set of such icons, if I need to reinstall Vista, can I use the icons again easily (so long as I have a backup of the bought files), or do I need to activate it Microsoft-style every time?

Thanks

For an IP all you need is Iconpacker, yes it will let you associate any icon with any app \ folder \ shortcut.

Not sure on the re-registration., I would assume once u have the Icon Package, there should be no need to re-register it. Just back it up somewhere.

"Object Desktop OR IconPackager 3.1".

Object Desktop is a suite of apps that includes IconPackager

IconPackager has a trial version I believe, not a free version

Thanks for your replies.

So, I take it from the last reply that it's necessary to buy extra software in order to apply the icon replacements on a per-file-type basis. Is this correct?

Also, does anyone know the answer to the memory question?

thanks

namely the memory issue

Just means your system should have 110 mb ram minimum.

In iconpackager config you can select by types what you want to have applied

I believe you can apply them with the trial version, I'm just not sure what happens when the trial runs out - from what I've read, the icons don't revert back

I believe that even after trial is over IP can be used to reset to default MS icons.
