Office XP refreshes to LARGE Menu Bars

Hi, I have window blinds, and everytime I open an application for office 2007, the menu bars become huge. I have to constantly go to the display settings and change it to large font and the normal font again before the font size goes down. Is there anyway to make this permanant?
