None of my gadgets work

I have just purchased Object Desktop and downloaded all the components. I am running Vista Ultimate. None of the gadgets work. When I try to start any of them, a dialogue pops up that says that it has quit working and that Windows will close it (but it doesn't; I have to close it myself) and that it will look for a solution. Then nothing else happens. This is the same sequence of events with each and every gadget I try to run.

Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?
