I bought the GalCivs Gold Edition today, do I need to update my copies of the games?

So I guess I have two questions,

1. Is my Dread Lords edition already 1.40X?

2. Is my Dark Avatar edition already 1.6?

I only ask this because I have dial up, so downloading patches is a pain, and I also cannot find any link to a 1.6 Dark Avatar patch, which is making me think that 1.6 is the release version.

You would need to first download and install Stardock Central, then you would update to the latest versions through SDC. Dread Lords is to version 1.5, by the way.
The boxed copy of Dark Avatar would probably be 1.5.

I saw this in the downloads page:

Update your retail boxed version of Galactic Civilizations II to the latest official released version: v1.40X English Edition.

I am also having problems with getting Stardock Central to work.
