Espionage Race Bbonus Question

Ok the subject pretty much says it all. I was wonderoing what the espionage bonus actually does. I'm talking about the bonuses the we can pick at the begining of a game or between the missions on the campain mode.

Does it get you spies sooner or just get you to higher levels of infoprmation faster? Thanks

AFAIK espionage bonus in DA allows you to spend MORE money, so you get your spy faster. Total waste of points if you ask me.

IIRC in DL it really worked as a bonus: you put in espionage some BCs, and bonus added a stated percent of free BCs.

Somehow, somewhere, I got the impression that it added to the probability of any espionage "rolls", making things like stealing tech more likely, but I have no ref.

Time to search the old forums for kryo/dev comments.

Normally i wouldnt waste the points but I'm p[laying the campain and I'm starting the third mission where i have to place 4 agents on a planet. So since thats all i really have to do i thought that if the points got me agents faster it would end the mision faster.

If it just means im allowed to spend more than the 25% it may not be worth it since ill be in the red for probably most of the mission.

Anyone else know for sure?
