Where do some people learn to drive?

I swear the world has way too many idiots and inconsiderate individuals riding along at the controls (behind the wheel of their vehicles).

As an example, I'm riding along on a very busy roadway -- one of the roadways into and out of the reaches of Southern Maryland -- where the traffic is confined to two lanes and is backed up for many cars in a row.  We've just gone through a stop light, after having to sit for our turn to go through same, and somewhere a few car lengths ahead of me is someone with their blinker clearly on.  Said blinker is on indicating that one of the vehicles that is ahead of me wants to move from the lane they are in, over into the other lane.  Said vehicle is clearly *ahead of* the vehicle that they want to 'squeeze' in front of, but the vehicle that is behind them is apparently completely oblivious to any of those facts and rather than doing anything that would make it easier for the signaling vehicle to move over, that driver instead cruises along, for all intents and purposes parallelling and matching the speed of the vehicle that wants to move.

Rock, meet hard place.

Does it not occur to either of these idiots that one or the other needs to hit brakes and let the other ahead?  Apparently not.  Apparently neither is capable of giving an inch to the other, or even really acknowledging the other's existence until the horn blows because one apparently 'cut the other off' and took what little space was there for themselves.

Common courtesy doesn't exist on the roadways any more.  The vehicle that should be making a little room doesn't, and never once acknowledges the turn signal that they'd have to be blind not to see (I can't imagine that there are that many legally blind individuals driving on the highways, but who knows, maybe some are....)

The vehicle that wants to move over and apparently can't because they don't believe there's enough room in the space between the vehicles beside them never seems to hit the gas, or hit the brake, and instead just cruises along looking, looking, looking, apparently feeling ignored until they decide to push the issue and almost run the other vehicle off the road.

I wish these idiots would move out of my area, and on to someone's road ways.  With apologies to the yanks up North, they'd fit in better in a place like New York, or maybe out in L.A. where they could be part of the traffic nightmares there.  Why do they have to haunt the roads that I drive on and leave me cursing the male donkey's that they all seem to be??
